Friday-Sunday, November 7-9:
Gathering of the Tents

On a journey of hope and compassion, Wesley will join STAND and the Tents of Hope gathering on the Mall in Washington , DC where the painted tents will be displayed to simulate refugee tents. Weekend activities will include national speakers, celebrities, entertainment, children's activities, seminars and workshops, an Interfaith Worship Service, films, and other presentations.

The purpose: to create awareness and support for the people of Darfur, Sudan. It's our hope that these tents will serve as pathways to concrete action. It's our hope that these tents will help lead to the advocacy necessary to stop the genocide in Darfur.

7:00-8:30 p.m. Students Report Back from "Gathering of the Tents" in Washington, DC
Students will share strategies for stopping the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. They will tell their stories and experiences from the Tents of Hope national conference in Washington, DC and inspire a group discussion and brainstorming on next steps for Wesley Student Center: What events and activities do we want to sponsor on campus to further advocacy and action to stop Darfur genocide and assist survivors?
